2023 has been about preparing for growth on all fronts, from strategically expanding our team with key roles to augmenting our product set and use cases by rolling out new features and integration, to increasing our partner network to accommodate more diversity for our customers.

We end the year immensely grateful to all of the people who have supported us, whether that meant sharing insights, trusting our product or joining our team and believing in our values.

2024 is going to be even more of a ride, and we couldn’t be more excited! (Also read our take on key trends in FinTech for 2024.)

We Expanded Our Team For Strategic Growth

2023 was a full year at CatalystPay, and one of our biggest achievements so far has been bringing together a very passionate team of professionals whose interest is to genuinely make payments easier and more intuitive for digitally native businesses. We have increased our headcount by 75%, and we filled strategically and operationally crucial positions to help accommodate our upcoming growth plans.

Tech solutions can only be as good as the people working on them, and on this front we are heading to 2024 with a solid core team with very complementary skill sets and ambitions.

We Expanded Our Product Set & Use Cases

In our pursuit to continually support the growth of online businesses, we've diligently expanded our product set and use cases over the past year. From plugins for popular ecommerce platforms to new payment methods, we worked on integrating technical enhancements to help online businesses bring more value to their customers. The pace at which trends change in the payment industry and their evolution is what guides us in constantly bettering our solution to cater to as many needs of our global merchants.

Our objective has always been to offer more value to our customers, and by broadening our solution set, we aim to meet the diverse and ever-growing needs of our global merchants.

We Increased Our Bank Partner Networks

2023 has also meant new partnerships and acquirers that we started to work with on top of the existing ones, from Paynetics and Payplug to other relevant names in the industry. This was a strategic decision rooted in our commitment to enhance flexibility and reach for our customers.

This expansion means our customers can now access a wider variety of payment processing options, catering to an increasingly global clientele. It also provides our merchants with more robust backup solutions, ensuring that their payment processes remain seamless and uninterrupted.

We Stayed Close To Merchants’ Needs Through Industry Events

Attending industry events has been a crucial priority for us at CatalystPay, as it provides an invaluable opportunity to stay attuned to the pulse of the fintech industry.

By being present at these events, we could get a more direct and a deeper understanding of the everyday challenges of business owners. Every conversation we’ve had has helped us stay responsive and flexible.

From local events where the merchants’ needs are focused on setting up and getting started to a more global perspective of scaling businesses or fully developed enterprises, getting the pulse of the market through its multiple facets helps us design a more well rounded product.

One thing we have learned by exposing ourselves to these events is that, while some of the conferences target the same industry and we get to meet multiple ventures operating under similar models, no two businesses are the same in terms of needs. This understanding has been one of our fundamental insights for the past year.

We Learned From CEE Industry Leaders

As this has been a year of preparing for growth and investing in solidifying the core value of our business, getting insights from leaders with a holistic business perspective has been nothing short of invaluable in this process.

We were featured in an editorial piece by The Recursive on payment processing strategies of top SaaS & eCommerce leaders in CEE.

We started Catalyst Conversation series to delve deep into the entrepreneurial journeys of leading figures in the e-commerce realm in Central and Eastern Europe, uncovering insights on revenue growth, sustainable business models, and international scaling.

We (Over)Shared With Our Network

As a starting digital business, valuable insights are not easy to come across, so we tried to nurture some of the aspects that have been crucial for us and to help our audience get better insights faster.

So instead of gatekeeping, we wanted to start building a community of professionals whose needs we can anticipate and respond to in an easy and intuitive way. We are beyond grateful for every person who finds our content insightful and we strive to help even more in the upcoming year.

We understand that not every online business aspires to double as payment experts, and we aim to extract the key parts of the process and help our network make sense of them.
