Role Overview:

We’re looking for an Underwriting Account Manager to take merchants from first contact to live processing. You’ll qualify inbound leads, assess risk, match each merchant to the right acquiring partner, and build applications that acquirers can approve with confidence. You’ll work closely with our Head of BD, Risk, and a CRM-based lead pipeline supported by AI qualification tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Qualify inbound merchant leads by reviewing the website, product, business model, processing history and MCC against each acquirer’s risk appetite.
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding of assigned leads, from first contact through application and acquirer approval to MID issuance.
  • Prepare and submit acquirer applications and manage all correspondence with acquiring partners until a decision is reached.
  • Review merchant KYC/KYB, UBO, CDD and supporting documents before submission. Make sure they are complete and consistent, and that they present the merchant clearly to the acquirer.
  • Understand each acquirer’s due diligence and sanctions requirements well enough to anticipate their questions and resolve issues before they cause delays.
  • Guide merchants and agents through application and documentation requirements by email and call.
  • Co-manage our customer success inbox and resolve onboarding blockers quickly.
  • Deliver within agreed SLAs and KPIs for response times, application turnaround and onboarding timelines.
  • Work with Risk to monitor live merchants and flag changes in volume, chargebacks or business model.

Who You Are:

  • Highly organised: you can keep several live applications moving without losing track of any of them.
  • Detail-oriented: a missing document or a mismatched UBO doesn’t get past you.
  • Proactive: you chase before you’re chased, and you flag issues early.
  • Delivery-focused: you treat timelines and SLAs as commitments.
  • A clear communicator with merchants, agents, acquirers and colleagues alike.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary that reflects your expertise (consider adding a range)
  • Comprehensive social benefits
  • Personal development and a clear career path within a growing underwriting function
  • 25 days of paid vacation, plus additional leave for social responsibility initiatives
  • Flexible working hours with a remote option
  • A friendly, collaborative team where your work directly shapes how we grow

Why Join CatalystPay?

You’ll be working where payments are hardest: high-risk merchants, multiple acquirers and fast-moving scheme rules. That makes your judgement matter. You’ll see the full picture of every deal, work directly with leadership, and help build the processes and tools the team will rely on as we scale.
