Cash App Digital Wallet

Cash App

Let US customers pay and get paid out from the Cash App account they already use. Payments travel over the Bitcoin Lightning Network, amounts stay in US dollars on screen, and there are no chargebacks.

Why offer Cash App?

Cash App enables U.S. consumers to make secure payments directly from their Cash App balance, bank account, or linked card. Designed for fast, mobile-first commerce, it eliminates the need for manual data entry and appeals strongly to Gen Z and Millennial shoppers.

Cash App payments run on our BTC Lightning solution under the hood, but your customers never see crypto and don't need to understand it. Cash App shows up as its own payment method in your checkout or cashier, next to cards and wallets, not as a crypto option. Every amount is shown in US dollars only, with no coins, exchange rates or conversions.

A familiar app and a familiar currency remove the hesitation that costs payments, which helps lift conversion for shoppers and players alike.

  • A payment method US customers already use

US customers pay from their Cash App balance or the debit card saved in the app. There's nothing new to sign up for and nothing to learn.
  • Dollars in, dollars out

Customers see a USD amount and nothing else. Without coin amounts or rates to second-guess, they pay with confidence.
  • Checkout in seconds, on any device

A quick tap on mobile or a scan on desktop, then confirm. Fewer steps mean fewer customers dropping off before they pay.
  • Balances update straight away

Customers see their deposit as soon as they've paid and get straight back to playing or shopping. No waiting, and no support tickets asking whether a payment arrived.
  • Fast, simple withdrawals

Players cash out with just their $Cashtag and see the money in their Cash App within seconds. Quick, easy payouts help keep players coming back.
  • Fewer failed payments

Details are checked before a payout is sent, and payments complete in full or not at all. That means fewer errors to fix and fewer frustrated customers.

With CatalystPay

Why offer Cash App with us?

Our Cash App payments are built on the CatalystPay BTC Lightning solution. You get Lightning's strengths on your side of the payment, and a button your customers already know on theirs.

  • Same API, no new integration: Cash App runs on the same API as our BTC Lightning payments. If you already accept Lightning with us, there's no new integration to build. If you're new to it, one integration through our API or hosted payment page gives you both, with minimal development.
  • No chargebacks: Lightning payments are final once confirmed, and each one is approved by the customer in Cash App. That means no disputes, no chargeback fees and no card dispute ratios to manage.
  • No card acquirer dependency: Cash App payments run outside card acquiring, so they don't rely on your card acquirer and aren't exposed to its volume caps or changes in which verticals it supports. Your US customers keep a way to pay alongside your cards.
  • Fast settlement: payments are confirmed in seconds and funds are available straight away, so you're not waiting on a settlement cycle.
  • Support along the way: our CatalystCare team helps you set up the cashier the right way, from first test to go-live and beyond, and keeps optimising as your volumes and markets change.

Important: This is not Cash App Pay. Your customers pay from their own Cash App account by sending a Bitcoin Lightning payment, which Cash App supports natively. CatalystPay provides the Lightning payment rails, the checkout and the payouts. CatalystPay is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of Block, Inc. or Cash App.

How does it works?

More about Cash App

Cash App, run by Block, Inc., is one of the most widely used payment apps in the US. It had 59 million monthly transacting actives in June 2026, and customers moved $87 billion into the app in Q2 2026 alone (Block Q2 2026 shareholder letter). Its users skew young: 72% of self-reported customers are Gen Z or millennials (Block, October 2024). In Q3 2025, Cash App also had the highest share of Gen Z monthly users among the top 50 US finance apps (Apptopia).

With CatalystPay, Cash App payments run on our BTC Lightning solution in the background. Your customers only ever see Cash App and US dollars, and you get Lightning's speed and final, chargeback-free payments.

That makes Cash App a strong fit for businesses selling to US customers through fast, mobile-first and high-frequency models: gaming, skill games and digital goods, especially where card routes for your model are harder to secure. Every merchant still goes through our usual review, so we'll check that your business model and markets fit the method first.

Cash App and $Cashtag are trademarks of Block, Inc. They are used here only to describe the app your customers pay from. CatalystPay is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Block, Inc.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do my customers need bitcoin or a crypto wallet to pay with Cash App?

No. Cash App payments run on our BTC Lightning solution in the background, but your customers never see or handle crypto. They pay in US dollars from their Cash App balance or a card linked to the app.
  • How do customers pay with Cash App?

They choose Cash App at checkout and enter an amount. On mobile, they tap Open CashApp. On desktop, they scan a QR code with the Cash App camera. Then they confirm the payment in Cash App.
  • Can I pay out to my customers through Cash App?

Yes. Customers withdraw with just their $Cashtag, which is checked before the payout is sent. The funds arrive in their Cash App within seconds.
  • Are there payment limits?

Yes. Cash App sets weekly limits on how much each account can send and receive. Your cashier can show customers what their account can receive before they request a payout.
  • What happens if a customer doesn't finish paying?

Payments are all-or-nothing, so there are no partial payments to chase. A payment request that isn't completed simply expires, and the customer can start a new one.
  • How and when are Cash App payments settled to the merchant?

Cash App payments settle through our BTC Lightning solution, just like our other Lightning payments. Each payment is confirmed in seconds, and the funds are available to you straight away, with no settlement cycle or rolling delay to wait for. They're settled in BTC only.
  • Is my business eligible?

Cash App suits businesses selling to US customers, especially fast, mobile-first and high-frequency models such as gaming, skill games and digital goods. Every merchant goes through our usual review, so we'll check that your business model and markets fit first. Get in touch to find out.
